As an Event Coordinator for IMC Connect! 2024, I helped organize the conference’s largest and most impactful year yet, hosting 650+ attendees and 45+ speakers from top global brands such as FedEx, Boeing, Carnival Cruise Line, and the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders. Designated as a district conference by the Public Relations Student Society of America, the event featured 38 sessions covering topics like crisis communication, branding, corporate social responsibility, and emerging challenges such as AI and deepfakes.
My responsibilities included managing speaker logistics, coordinating schedules, and overseeing a $45,000 budget while raising $35,524 in sponsorships and $15,000 in in-kind contributions. Through strategic planning and seamless execution, I contributed to creating a transformative experience that connected students with industry leaders and highlighted the dynamic future of communication.
During my role as a Employer Services Graduate Assistant at the Career Center, I successfully organized roughly seven career fairs each year, attended by over 200 employers and 1,000+ students each semester.
My responsibilities included managing event logistics, coordinating schedules, and ensuring seamless on-site operations. I worked closely with employers to optimize their engagement with students, creating opportunities for networking and career advancement. These events were designed to foster connections between students and industry leaders, ensuring meaningful outcomes for both groups.
In 2021, I served on the executive team for New Maroon Camp, a 5-night, 4-day student-led retreat that welcomed a record-breaking 1,400 incoming first-year students to Mississippi State University.
While my primary role was on the marketing team—creating multimedia content and designing branding materials to enhance the camp experience—I worked alongside the rest of the executive team to prepare for the event throughout the year. Together, we guided and supported a 140-person student staff to ensure every aspect of the camp was well-organized and impactful.
The program provided incoming students with an early move-in opportunity and a chance to immerse themselves in MSU’s history and traditions. Students were placed into one of six family groups, participating in team competitions, group discussions, and bonding activities to build connections with peers and counselors before the semester began.
